Catamaran Adventure: Sailing and Swimming in the Bacalar Lagoon

3.Catamaran Adventure: Sailing and Swimming in the Bacalar Lagoon

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 91 reviews · 3 hours (approx.) · from $55

Spend about three hours on Laguna de Bacalar aboard a comfortable catamaran, with swimming, seasonal fruit, natural fruit drinks, music, bottled water, and three beers per person. Meet at Casa China Bacalar. Cata and Hugo have helped make past outings memorable, and boats may change with the wind.

“The lagoon is beautiful and we were glad to have seen it. Costa Maya doesn’t offer a ton as far as excursions go and I feel this was the best thing to do. Be aware it is a long drive from the cruise port, about an hour and 20 minutes and will cost at least $300 for a group of 7 to get there. Our tour guide and captain were not great compared to the reviews I read. They did the minimum that was required per the description. We still had a good time! Our driver was wonderful, his name is Gabriel.”

4.Private Eco-Tour on a Recreational Catamaran with Kayaks Included

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 75 reviews · 3 hours (approx.)

Spend three hours on Bacalar’s Seven Colors Lagoon aboard a private recreational catamaran, with kayaks, swimming stops, fruit drinks, snacks, and three beers per adult. Guides such as Diego, Armando, and Daniel can tailor the pace and steer you toward calmer parts of the lagoon.

“Diego and Armando gave a wonderful private tour of the lagoon and took us to some of the more secluded parts away from the larger boat groups. Diego had a lot of knowledge of the area and was able to explain a lot about the lagoon and the area of Bacalar. Fabulous time and because it was a private tour we could go at our own pace. The lagoon itself is lovely to swim in, especially on a hot day!”
